The DVD Workouts
Each of the 12 highly diverse and intense DVD workouts focuses on either a specific set of muscle groups or a unique training technique.

  • Workout One: Chest & Back. This superset chest-and-back-blasting workout emphasizes two classic upper-body exercises--push-ups and pull-ups--to build strength and develop shape. The combination of these two push and pull movements will help you burn loads of calories while simultaneously attacking, strengthening, and developing multiple muscle groups.

  • Workout Two: Plyometrics. Get ready to go airborne. Offering more 30 explosive jumping moves, this intense cardio routine will keep you in the air most of the time. Plyometrics, also known as jump training, has been proven to dramatically improve athletic performance. If your sport involves a ring, rink, field, court, or track, this training will give you the edge.   • Workout Three: Shoulders & Arms. Nothing rounds out the perfect physique like a pair of well-defined arms and shoulders, and with its potent combination of pressing, curling, and fly movements, this routine will leave you feeling stronger and looking sexier.   • Workout Four: Yoga X. Yoga is a vital part of any fitness regimen, and is an absolute must for an extreme program like P90X.   • Workout Six: Kenpo X.   • Workout Eight: Core Synergistics. The Nutrition Plan
Following the P90X nutrition plan is just as vital to your overall success as any of the extreme workouts in this program. Specifically designed to work in tandem with the P90X workout routines, this three-phase eating plan recommends the perfect combination of foods to satisfy your body's energy needs every step of the way. P90X is not about quick fixes or miracle diets. It's about selecting the healthy foods that you want to eat, and determining the portion amounts that will provide your body with the right amount of fuel to excel during exercise. The P90X nutrition plan offers three phases. Phase 1 is the Fat Shredder, a high-protein-based diet designed to help you strengthen your muscles while simultaneously and rapidly shedding fat from your body. Phase 2 is the Energy Booster, a balanced mix of carbohydrates and proteins with a lower amount of fat to achieve additional energy for performance. Really works, if you do
P90X is the real deal. See the customer photo of me at 52 years old after completing a 90 day cycle - I did not follow the diet but did try to eat better. Yes, for that photo I did get pumped but I only did one set of chin-ups and one set of pushups but each was a personal best for me - 25 chin-ups and 55 pushups in good form. I have been into fitness and bodybuilding for over 30 years, training about 4 days week in a gym. I never thought I could look my best at 52 and I did it by working out at home in front of a TV.

Be warned, P90X is not for everyone. First, it is not for someone out of shape trying to get into great shape. It is for people in good shape trying to get into the best shape of their lives. It does include a test to see if you are in good enough shape before starting - which is a very responsible approach. The workouts are long and brutal, about 60 minutes each but Yoga is 90 minutes.The key is simply to do your best because the competition is not with the people in the video, it is with yourself. P90X requires a set of dumbbells and a doorway chin-up bar that you can find in most sporting goods store. The exercise bands are nice and can be used instead. I bought a set of bands but quickly abandoned them for dumbbells and a chin-ups bar. The routines include everything from isometrics to plyometrics, jumping jacks to wacky jacks, working slow twitch and fast twitch muscles fibers, core work, hatha yoga, kempo karate, cardio, and plenty of pull-ups and pushups.

The bottom line, it works, if and only if, you take it seriously and do your best. If you plan on going through the motions without committing or only working out a couple of days a week then save your money. If you decided it is time to have the best body you ever had by working hard for 90 days, then the payoff well worth it. It is tough, no doubt about it. But the greater the challenge the sweeter the victory.
 
Makes Working Out Fun!!!!
I never really had motivation to go the gym and I HATE jogging, going out for a run, etc. P90X motivates me to workout, I look forward to it every single day. You just need to have a positive attitude, change your outlook on exercising, forget that you can't or it's too hard. You body will adapt to the program, I'm telling you. Get to that point where you hit play everyday, just hit play and Tony will take it from there, he really motivates you. I've done 2 rounds of P90X thus far this year and I've lost 30lbs. YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THE NUTRITION PLAN OR YOU WILL NOT SEE RESULTS! I thought I could get by just doing the workouts and not changing my diet, I was wrong. Remember, 80% of your body composition is what you eat, only 10% is exercising. I can't stress this enough, if you're not going to change your diet, don't bother doing the program because you won't get the results you want. Stay away form sodas, sweets, high carb. foods, processed foods, fast foods, all the junk! I'm currently doing a P90X\Insanity Hybrid and loving every minute of it. AGAIN, JUST GET TO THE POINT EVERYDAY WHERE YOU PRESS THAT PLAY BUTTON AND IT WILL EVENTUALLY BECOME EMBEDDED IN YOUR NATURAL ROUTINE, IT'LL BECOME SECOND NATURE TO YOU AND YOU WON'T EVEN REALIZE YOU'RE DOING IT. That's what happened to me, it became so natural, like waking up every morning and brushing my teeth, just didn't even think about it anymore and the same will happen to you, just get through that first coupole of weeks. BRING IT!!!!
 
Specialist99 Doesn't Respond to email
I ordered the P-90X on the 10th of August, here we are with no response to my email, and the status is "Unable to cancel this order" however we are a week past the latest delivery estimate. I just want to cancel this order and buy the P90X somewhere else. If you read my email, or this review - PLEASE CANCEL MY ORDER! I hate this process and would have rather paid top retail price and actually spent the last 30 days using the P90X than putting up with this suspense.
 
P90x DVDs don't work
I would highly recommend that you avoid this store. We purchased a P90x workout program. Everything arrived quickly and appeared to be in good order: books, DVDs, and boxes in what appeared to be original packaging. However, only one of the DVDs will play in a normal DVD player (I've tried to play them in three different players) & some don't work in computers. Bottom line: we're incredibly disappointed. An absolutely defected item in a well-packaged box.

To add insult to injury, the proprietor never responded to our email requesting either a replacement or a refund. Save yourself time and aggravation. Go elsewhere.
 
Pirated P90X!!
The P90X itself is great. However, this product that I received had many typo errors in the manual and recipe book. Some of the DVD's worked others did NOT! Wouldn't trust this seller.
